Located on the beautiful shores of Devils Lake, Spirit Water Inn is on the edge of Minnewaukan, a small town surrounded by vast and diverse wildlife. Our area of North Dakota, at the intersection of US 281 and Highway 19, abounds with game, fish and plant life to peruse according to your taste. You will find hundreds of miles of shoreline to explore. The tremendous expanse of Devils Lake extends from our doorstep. Many windows enjoy direct views of our ever-changing waters. No canvas embellished by man captures the remarkable beauty one can perceive in and around Spirit Water Inn Resort.
The centerpiece of Spirit Water Inn is the historic Helberg Lodge, maintained as a tribute to the genius of architect Frank Lloyd Wright by your host Stephen Jensen Chase. This Usonian original is constructed from the earth of which it is part. Local stone, Dakota straw mat insulated board and expansive double pane glass support the spreading cantilevered roof over a knotty pine ceiling.
Mason's Quarters and Faith's Place are offered separately or together with either two twins or king sized bed configuration in each. A rock hearth, claristory windows and unique accessories adjoin the secluded garden area. Just past the lawn lies the lakeshore. Large picture windows avail our guests refreshing views of our recovering waters. Enjoy a unique sauna experience, hot tub, sumptuous living areas brimming with books, music and art, a comfortable den with complete entertainment center and fireplace.
